ABOUT

 

“Center For European Studies” (CES) is a structural subdivision of the YuriyFedkovychChernivtsi National University (hereinafter referred to as the University) and is created with the financial help of the European apparatus of the neighboring and partnership, in the framework of the Joint Operational Program of the trans-border cooperation Roumania-Ukraine-Republic of Moldova according to the project “Cross-border educational exhanges in European studies – favorable framework in the diminishing of the border effects at the eastern frontier of the EU (CEDEES)”

CES in its activities is governed by the current legislation of Ukraine, statutory acts of the Ministry of the Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine, Statute of the University and this Statute.

The founder of the CES is the University. The center doesn’t have the status of the legal body.

For the fulfillment of its statute tasks CES may interact with some other centers and organizations that have similar objectives and tasks, sustain the direct international contacts and connections first and foremost with the European structures and foundations, initiate the setting of the agreements and take part in the fulfillment of the actions that don’t contradict the current legislation of Ukraine and the Statute of the University.

Objectives, tasks and main spheres of action of the CES
1.The main objective of the CES is aligning and development of the scientific, educational and cultural connections between the University an structures and foundations of the EU, all-European institutions and organizations, educational institutions for the distribution of various information that may be of an interest for the University, its researchers, staff, students and other interested actors concerning the possibilities of cooperation and winning grants and scholarships, the availability of the internship programs, exchange and research programs, developing and submitting of the joint projects, its coordination and fulfillment.
2. Priority tasks of the CES are:
2.1. Assisting in creating the necessary conditions for the teachers, staff and students of the University in order to put into action their intellectual and scientific potential in different educational spheres by the developing and submitting of the joint projects and programs of the EU, European Commission and other European structures.
2.2. Aligning and developing the cooperation with the various European institutions and foundations to receive funding.
2.3. Assisting in promotion of the interest of the teachers, staff and students of the University to the possibilities of taking part in various European projects and programs.
2.4. Aligning and developing of the contacts with the respective centers for European Studies in Ukraine and abroad for the submission of the joint applications and carrying out the actions.
3. For the fulfillment of the statute tasks of the CES in the established order the following is required:
3.1. To initiate, develop and carry out the scientific and educational, cultural projects.
3.2. To give teachers, staff and students of the University the necessary instructions and consultations concerning the existing European projects, scholarships, studying programs, possibilities of the internship abroad, preparing the necessary documents and submitting the applications.
3.3. To initiate and align contacts with the respective centers in Ukraine and abroad.
3.4. To organize the all-Ukrainian and international conferences, seminars and other events concerning Europe and also inform about such events in Ukraine and abroad.

III. The structure and arrangement of work in the CES
1. The arrangement of work in the CES is carried out by the administration presented by the director of the Center and the manager on practical arrangements.
2. The Administration of the Center is assigned by the Rector of the University.
3. The general form of arrangement of work of the CES is sittings and working councils that are held by the administration of the Center by its own initiative or by the initiative of the Rectorate of the University.
4. The annual and the perspective plans and the results of the activities are discussed at the sittings.
5. The Rectorate of the University and the structural subdivisions that coordinate the international relations are informed by the CES about all forms and results of its actions.
6. The Center works out its own web-site and places there all necessary information in order to popularize the activities of the CES.

IV. Financial activity
1. The Center has at its disposal the property given to the CES by the legal and private bodies or by the state according to the procedures described in the legal system, bought with the help of one’s own funds or obtained under other circumstances that are not restricted by the law.
2. For the ensuring of its work the Center may have technical and informational equipment, other movable and immovable property.
3. Property and funds of the CES cannot be redistributed between its members.
4. Property and funds are used solely for the fulfillment of the statute tasks of the CES according to the current legislation.

V. Activity cessation
Activity cessation of the CES may only be carried out by its reorganizing or liquidation by the decree of the Rector of the University according to the current legislation of Ukraine.
